The vampires are back. Last week marked the return of CW’s most smash hit series, “The Vampire Diaries,” and with several of the lovely bloodsuckers in college, the new season promises to be the most dubious yet. There will be new enemies, new romance, betrayal, and of course, more secrets.
Back in Mystic Falls, however, things treachery runs rampant. Fans last saw Katherine narrowly escape the clutches of Jeremy as she scurried off into the darkness. But things will only get darker for the recently humanized vampire. A new sneak peek shows Katherine tied up on a mysterious road trip with Jeremy and Matt, and to make matters worse, she’s sick. Really sick. Aside from being taken hostage, she’ll have to deal with the follies of being human. Take an exclusive sneak peek here.
Back at Whitmore, Caroline stays on the prowl for young love. "We will see other male characters in the series that will be in college and that are good looking. So, there's definitely opportunity for temptation or flirting or whatever young freshman in college do," Candice Accola said in a recent interview. "But Caroline is still holding onto her relationship with Tyler."
At the close of Season 4, Caroline had graduated high school with her favorite and most adoring friends by her side, except of course, for Tyler. Although he did make an appearance at prom night, he hastily left to avoid his enemy Klaus. Then upon Klaus’ departure, he told Caroline that Tyler was free to return to Mystic Falls whenever he pleased. So will he return? And if he does, how will the young couple cope with a long distance relationship, especially with Caroline in such a prone environment? Fans will have to wait and see.
