The government may be shut down, but that doesn’t stop history’s biggest scandal from ripping through the nation’s capitol. The hit series “Scandal” is back. For all of those on furlough, it supplements all your debauchery needs. Why sit through a senate hearing when you can get ten times the entertainment from the comfort of your own home? If anything, it should be considered work. It teaches you what not to do while exposing the dark underbelly of politics. So enjoy your days off, but take some time to study and enjoy yourself while you’re at it. “Scandal” will continue to rock the capitol, even while the government remains gridlocked.

For those who can’t wait for next week’s episode to get your dose of government debauchery, a handful of rumors shed some light on what’s to come. According to TVLine, Joshua Malina described David’s dynamic with Olivia as now being a “cautious friendship.” He also added that David’s role in Season 3 has yet to have a purpose, although they’re already five episodes into filming.

“I’ve argued a very important case - I think I can say that - and I’ve had a bit of the, ‘We’re friends/No, we’re on opposite sides of an issue’ thing with Olivia,” Malina said. “It feels like their earlier dynamic.”

Want more ‘scandalous’ details? According to Jeff Perry, who plays Cyrus on the show, when his character discovers the truth "somewhere in the first couple episodes, Cyrus is transported to a very ominous location for a very ominous meeting in a trunk of a car,” a potential scandal in its own.

“Scandal” airs Thursday nights on ABC.
