Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias reportedly sold his Miami mansion for $6.7 million, according to Fox News Latino. The 38-year-old singer had bought the place, located in Bay Point, as a vacant lot back in 1998 for $640.000.
The two-floor mansion is 6,300 sq. feet, and includes a dock 100 feet long, five bedrooms and five bathrooms. The "Turn The Night Up" singer built the property a year after buying the land, Fox News reported. No information on who's buying the mansion has been released.
"This is a home defined by privacy and exclusivity, conveniently situated near South Beach and downtown Miami," said the real estate agent in charge of the sale, Esther Percal, as quoted by Fox News.
It was announced that the singer sold his mansion after rumors surfaced that he and longtime girlfriend, former professional Tennis player Anna Kournikova, may have ended their relationship after dating for 12 years.
According to a report by the New York Post's Page Six, Kournikova was the one calling it quits because Igleasias wouldn't propose. "Anna is getting tired of waiting for him to decide if he wants to marry her or not," a source told Page Six, as quoted by the Huffington Post. "They've been together for so long, she feels like it's never going to happen. She is ready to move on."
"This issue has come up before, and they have managed to smooth things over and get back together. Time will tell," added the source.
Back in May, The Sun published that the couple was ready to tie the knot. "This is going to be a huge wedding in front of their celeb pals. They are going all out - it's going to be a massive ceremony with an over-the-top reception," reported The Sun, as quoted by the Huffington Post.
However, according to interviews the couple gave separately, neither of them had plans of marrying anytime soon. "I've never really thought marriage would make a difference. Maybe it's because I come from divorced parents, but I don't think you love someone more because of a piece of paper. And nowadays, it's not taboo to have kids and not be married. What makes a difference is that you're a good parent, period," the singer told Parade magazine.
Kournikova herself also admitted that marriage wasn't important to her. "I'm in a happy relationship -- that's all that matters," she said. "I believe in commitment. I believe in being open and trusting each other and respecting each other completely," she said in talks with Women's Health.
