The Winnipeg Jets will look to win their third game of the season when they take on the Anaheim Ducks Sunday.
The Jets looked ready to take the next step into the playoffs last season but fell a few points short. However, the team is showing it may be ready to take that next step this season with a terrific performance through two games.
Goaltending and defense have been questionable thus far - goalie Ondrej Pavelec has conceded seven goals in two games and has a pedestrian .905 save percentage this season - but the offense has been terrific with 10 goals through two games.
Particularly impressive has been the line of Mark Scheifele, Evander Kane and Devin Setogouchi. The trio has combined for four goals and eight points in the first two games.
"It feels good to score at home," Setoguchi said following the team's 5-3 win over the Los Angeles Kings, according to NHL.com. "But the main thing is we won the game. And we beat a real good hockey club. We played our game after the first period, and we've got to do that right off the bat."
The Anaheim Ducks got off to an embarrassing start in their opener against Colorado. Not only did the game feature a 6-1 blowout loss, but it also showcased a coaching bout between Bruce Boudreau and Colorado Coach Patrick Roy. However, the Ducks got back to work on Saturday and managed a huge 4-2 overtime against the Minnesota Wild.
Prediction: Winnipeg wins 4-2.
Start Time: 8 p.m. EST
