The second season of CBS’s hit Sherlock Holmes drama “Elementary” is in full swing with the dynamic detective duo solving cases in London and back home in New York. In the latest episode, titled “Solve for X,” found Sherlock and Joan solving the mysterious murders of two mathematicians.
While the two consulting detectives waded through evidence in their mathematician murder, Joan (Lucy Liu) dealt with some personal drama of her own. When visiting the grave of her last patient, Joan is met by her former patient’s son Joey (guest star Jeremy Jordan), who invites her out to coffee.
Joan, who feels guilty for Joey’s father’s death, is somewhat shocked when Joey asks her for a $5,000 loan for a new bar he plans to open. Despite his objections, Sherlock (Jonny Lee Miller) gives Joan $20,000 to get Joey off her back for good. Hesitant, Joan offers Joey the money only if he agrees to go back to school to finish his engineering degree.
In the upcoming episode of “Elementary,” titled “We Are Everyone,” Joan and Sherlock are forced to deal with a group of cyber-activists who disrupt their investigation. CBS teases, “When Holmes and Watson set out to track down a civil contractor who leaked classified information, their lives are disrupted when they are targeted by a group of cyber-activists protecting him.”
A promo for the upcoming episode shows that the cyber-activist group may be more trouble than initially believed. They even may get Sherlock into some hot water with the police.
“Meanwhile, Joan takes on the advice of a friend and signs up for an online dating service,” CBS adds. How will Sherlock react to Joan’s new dating venture?
"Elementary" S2E3, "We Are Everyone," airs on Thursday, October 10 at 10 p.m. on CBS.
