'Nikita' Season 4 Spoilers: Final Season Air Date Announced

Calling all "Nikita" fans: break out your calendars and get ready to mark an important date. 

TVLine confirms that the CW spy drama will kick off its final six-episode season on Friday, November 22 at 9 p.m. The fourth and final season will air over six straight weeks, and will close out with what is sure to be a dramatic series finale on December 27. 

The official final season synopsis reads: "Framed for assassinating the President at the end of last season, Nikita finds herself at the beginning of season four alone and on the run, hunted as the most wanted woman in the world. But when she follows up a lead that could clear her name, Nikita unexpectedly finds herself reunited with her old team. Forced to work together again, Nikita and her allies have to get past their emotional wounds in order to take down their nemesis, Amanda. In the process, they discover that the plot to frame Nikita is actually part of a much larger conspiracy, one that could lead to global catastrophe."

Showrunner Craig Silverstein recently assured TVLine that the final season of "Nikita" will "come to a conclusion. As much of one as possible."

TVLine also reported that fans will get to see a good number of Alex (Lyndsy Fonesca) and Owen (Devon Sawa) scenes in the final six episodes. 

As described in the official synopsis, the show's final episodes will also feature Nikita (Maggie Q) joining her team again after going MIA in last season's finale. 

"The first episode starts with her on the run," co-star Lyndsy Fonseca told TVLine. "And by the end of it, she's back with the team."

It was revealed that Nikita will be falling in with a very rough-and-tumble crowd while on the lam. 

A sizzle reel for the fourth season, which was released at Comic-Con, gave a trip down "Nikita" memory lane. The reel takes viewers back to a time when Nikita was fighting against the old Division's corruption. It also backtracks to when Michael (Shane West), Birkhoff (Aaron Stanford), Alex and Nikita were cleaning up the mess the old Division left behind. The video then comes back to the most recent season, with Alex shooting Ryan (Noah Bean) and Nikita leaving the team, creating a dramatic cliffhanger. 

Lyndsy Fonesca shared more with TVLine about her character's covert operation, as well as what's in store for the final season. 

Fonesca shared that Alex is not actually changed as a person; Amanda (Melinda Clarke) "went into Alex's brain and unplugged a couple things and then plugged them back into the wrong holes - she switched the wires," Fonesca said. 

Viewers will see that Alex's game-changing plan will continue until it gets too big for her to handle. "The mutiny thing definitely goes further and further for at least a couple of episodes after this one," Fonesca said. "Alex is going to be stuck in the middle... Things are going to go so far out of her control. It's all going to blow up. There's really sad, crazy s-t that's going to happen."

She also hinted that viewers will see more of a Amanda/Nikita focused storyline at the end of the season. 

"It gets really juicy," Fonesca said. She also added,"Michael's also thrown in there, believe it or not. He comes into the mix in interesting ways."

Silverstein said that Amanda and The Shop will be the main adversaries next season, and that the "villain of the week" plots will dissipate in order to look at larger, serialized events. 

"So, [next season] will be like going right for the icing on the cake and not having to worry about the cake. We'll get right to the good stuff right away," Silverstein said.
