The zombies are coming. Soon enough, the image of open bite wounds and rotten flesh will haunt our daydreams and nightmares. Not only is Halloween creeping around the corner, but the hit series “The Walking Dead” will also bring hordes of brainless walkers to our front doors. Brace yourselves.
As the final weeks until the Season 4 premiere dwindle, fans are hungry for any little zombie details they can sink their teeth into. Change is on the horizon, and as you might expect, it’s not all good news.
Upon the show’s return, Rick is not longer the leader. He’s no longer crazy, but he’s having difficulties adapting to his newfound position. As TV Guide reports, he’ll come across a fellow survivor who has done unforgivable things to survive that will make him realize that redemption is near impossible to attain. But while Rick dwells on his internal struggle, the group will have more pressing matters to tackle when past issues become major problems in the zombie infested apocalyptic world.
“[Rick is] a man that is wrestling with a motor that didn't work last season," said Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick. "He's trying to suppress the brutality for the sake of both of his children and trying o be a parent in an apocalypse and trying to return to the man he once was."
"He's trying to find a way to add value and help and try to find a place for himself inside the community where he can do that without having to be the alpha male making all the decisions," said executive producer Dave Alpert. "This is a very different Rick. How long that can last, however, is another question."
"The Walking Dead" returns to AMC October 13.
