Iker Casillas returned to action for Real Madrid for the first time in almost a year and helped his club to a 4-0 win over Copenhagen.

The netminder was rarely tested throughout the game and nearly cost his team when he misread a corner kick in the first half with his team up 1-0. A header wound up hitting the crossbar and Luka Modric bailed out his netminder.

However, Casillas responded late in the game to make three unbelievable saves to put to rest questions of his form. He stopped a breakaway before making two quick reflex saves on a corner kick.

A great deal of speculation has surrounded the goalie as he has been essentially relegated to being the No. 2 in Madrid behind Diego Lopez. However, Casillas told the press that he supported his teammate and his coach Carlo Ancelotti's decisions.

"The most important this is Real Madrid... With this goalkeeper rotation you can see that we are all on the winners on that. I see the positive side of it. Diego wins, I win, Real Madrid wins," said Casillas, according to Inside Futbol.

He also noted that Lopez should continue to play for the team and that he does not want him to be relegated to the bench.

"Diego is operating at the highest level right now. And it has certainly forced me to work harder," he said. "I admit, sometimes I feel good about, sometimes I don't.

"But if the coach believes I must play in the Champions League and Diego in La Liga, I'll keep my head down and take every opportunity given to me," he affirmed. "The thing is another player is playing really well right now in my place and I have to accept that."
