Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale, Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner Revealed in New 'American Hustle' Posters

Sony has revealed five posters for the upcoming film "American Hustle"

The posters show off each principal character in the film. Jeremy Renner, Amy Adams, Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper and Amy Adams all star in the movie about a con artist and his partner in crime who are forced to work with a federal agent to turn the tables on other cons, mobsters and politicians.

The film is thought of as a major Oscar contender as director David O. Russell's last two films have garnered multiple Academy Award nominations. Last year, when "Silver Linings Playbook" was released, pundits wrote it off as a quirky rom-com. However, the movie proved it was more than that and received eight nominations. "The Fighter" was also never seen as a huge contender but also managed to surprise pundits in 2009.

While "American Hustle" skipped the festival circuit this year, the film can easily be a late year release. Many films that skipped the festival circuit include "The Blind Side," "The Reader," "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" and "Million Dollar Baby"; all of them were Best Picture nominees.

The movie reunites the director with "Silver Linings Playbook" stars Lawrence, Cooper and Robert De Niro. It also reunites Russell with Adams and Bale after "The Fighter."

"American Hustle" also stars Louis C.K., Alessandro Nivola, Elisabeth Rohm, Dawn Olivieri, Jack Huston and Michael Pena. The movie is scheduled for a release on Dec. 13 in limited release and nationwide on Dec. 25.
