Love can be awkward. It can be uncomfortable and humorous, but that’s the beauty of it. No matter what goofy form it takes, it’s no matter to your significant other. They love you for who you are. If anything, it’s your awkward and clumsy moments that attracted them in the first place. You see it everywhere. You see it on the streets, in restaurants, movie theaters, even on television, particularly in the hit series “The Big Bang Theory.” It captures love’s most awkward moments splendidly, moments to which the upcoming seventh season will cater.
Fans are well aware that Amy has been anxiously been waiting to take the next step in her relationship with Sheldon, but she doesn’t make that too apparent after Sheldon tries to play her arm candy, TV Guide reports. In fact, Sheldon makes a complete buffoon out of himself when he gets hurt while ‘manning up,’ literally. Young awkward love. What a beautiful thing.
Not only that, but Sheldon’s big mouth may get him into even more trouble. “I do end up telling people, colleagues of Amy Farrah Fowler, because he thinks it’s a good thing to tell them, that they’ve got a good relationship and a physical one and that one time he spanked her,” said Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon on the show. “Which I did. And I think his willingness to admit that explains how he felt about that. It needed to happen. It wasn’t pleasurable. It hurts me more than it hurts you.”
Poor Sheldon will have plenty on his plate come throughout Season 7. In addition to juggling his relationship with Amy, he’ll also be dealing with his feelings for Penny.
“[Penny and Sheldon] share a couple intimate secrets about each other,” executive producer Steve Molaro said when discussing the season premiere. “They have some really sweet scenes together.” With Leonard away, the pair will have plenty of time to bond throughout the season, which could stir some unsettling emotional complications once Leonard makes his triumphant return. Whether it’s plutonic or something more, they’re going to feel the strain on their blossoming relationship once the third party comes back into the picture.
Season 7 will be the season of trying relationships and love, with plenty of laughs along the way, of course.
