"Hawaii Five-0" kicked off its fourth season with explosions, gunfights and little bit of romance.
After a failed attempt to kill Wo Fat (Mark Dacascos), the NLM attacks the Hawaii Police Department, rendering everyone inside a hostage. They hack into the department's computer system and get access to the location of Kono (Grace Park) and Adam's (Ian Anthony Dale) safe house. They then sell the information to Yakuza.
There is an exchange of gunfire, maiming one of the hostages. Five-0 is eventually able to take the NLM terrorists into custody. Yet, the NLM leader, El Condor, takes Catherine (Michelle Borth) hostage in an effort to get his team released. McGarrett (Alex O' Loughlin) is able to save his girlfriend by intercepting the SWAT van carrying the NLM terrorists and ordering the SWAT team to put down their weapons and get out of the car. He then gives the NLM villains the keys to the Camaro and lets them drive off in exchange for Catherine's safe return.
Although McGarrett was able to save Catherine, it was a huge concession for the Five-0 team to make, which angered Captain Grover (Chi McBride).
The episode did have one casualty: Danno's (Scott Caan) precious Camaro. While the NLM is making their getaway, they blow up the Camaro and get a ride with El Condor.
But not to worry, it's not end of Danny and McGarrett's beloved car arguments. O'Loughlin recently told TVGuide that the show recently acquired a brand new, black five-speed Camaro.
"We get a better one. We get a faster one," O'Loughlin said about the new ride. "It's a bad bitch, man. I've gotten it sideways a few times. ... It's pretty amazing."
But who will be the one driving the new set of wheels? "I'm not ready to let him [Danny] drive it because he's not responsible," O'Loughlin says. "First of all, he can't drive stick and it's a stick. So that should be the end of this f---ing thing. But it's not. He rides the clutch. He grinds the gears. It's like, if he would just get a little humble and just ask me, I'll teach him how to drive it. And when he does, I'll give him the keys back."
The season will continue this week with episode two, titled "A'ale Ma'a Wau," which means "fish out of water." On the episode, the team will learn the truth of an old saying: Don't mess with Texas.
The official synopsis reads: "Five-0 assists a Texas Ranger in finding his missing daughter when they cross paths with him during a murder investigation. Adam and Kono run into problems and find themselves fighting for their lives."
Watch the promo below for a sneak peak at episode two. Tune in on Friday, October 4 at 9 p.m. on CBS to see the full episode.
