Anderlecht and Olympiacos will look to put up their first points of the 2013 Champions League when they face off against one another on Wednesday.
Anderlecht lost 2-0 against Benfica in its first game while Olympiacos was destroyed 4-1 by Paris Saint-Germain; the score could have been higher if PSG's Zlatan Ibrahimovic had not missed a penalty shot late in the game.
The Belgian Champion Anderlecht currently sits fourth in the Belgian Pro League with six wins and three losses; the team's 18 points are nine behind first place Standard Liege. After opening the season with three straight victories, Anderlecht has struggled to win two Belgian pro matches in a row. Its most recent game was a 2-0 victory over Lierse SK.
Meanwhile, Olympiacos continues to dominate the Greek Super League with five wins and one draw in six matches. The Greek side opened its season with a 1-0 win over Kalloni AEL before taking down Atromitos 2-1. In its third game, Olympiacos dominated Levadiakos 5-0 before putting up a 4-0 win against FC Xanthi. The team then drew 0-0 against Pantolikos (the third-place team in the Greek Super League) before winning 2-0 against Panionios.
Both teams are seen as underdogs to get out of the Group stage. However, Porto and Benfica will face off on Wednesday and one of both sides will undoubtedly lose points; the winner of this game could seize the opportunity and pull closer to the other two sides. A draw here could be disastrous for both clubs.
Prediction: Anderlecht wins 2-0 at home.
Start Time: 2:45 p.m. EST
