Saoirse Ronan confirmed she auditioned for "Star Wars: Episode VII."
The British actress acknowledged that she was one of many to audition for the film. During an interview with Sky News, Ronan said, "so has everyone." She added that she could not say anything about the film because if she did the studio would "chop off her head with a light-saber."
Latino Review first reported rumors about the audtion a few weeks ago. "Saoirse Ronan recently passed on the role of Wanda Maximoff, The Scarlet Witch, in The 'Avengers: Age of Ultron,' so you can speculate all you want since Star Wars and Marvel are under the same Disney brand. I tried to find out what Ronan went in but they wouldn't tell me. During the conversation what was very interesting was that there will be a female villain part as well. NOW I'm not saying Ronan went in for that part, for all you know Ronan went in for the Solo daughter," wrote Latino Review.
Ronan rose to fame in 2007 when she received an Academy Award for her role in "Atonement." She later starred in "The Lovely Bones," "City of Ember," "Hanna" and "The Way Back." This year she appeared in Neil Jordan's "Byzantium" and "Violet and Daisy." She will next be seen in Kevin Macdonald's "How I Live Now" also featuring Tom Holland ("The Impossible").
"Star Wars: Episode VII" is in pre-production with J.J Abrams directing and Kathleen Kennedy producing. Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, and Mark Hamill have all been rumored to reprise their roles from the original trilogy.
The movie will start shooting in 2014 in the U.K. and will be released in 2015 release.
