The new season of long-running procedural crime drama "CSI" focused on what can happen when serious daddy issues are never resolved.
The season kicked off with an adrenaline-infused chase to rescue Morgan Brody and Capt. Brass' estranged daughter, Ellie. By the episode's end, one character tragically bit the dust.
The CSI team and the LVPD were able to figure out that the man behind the hell-themed murders is not Rev. Larson or Oliver Tate--it is actually a young man named Matthew, the brother of their in-custody suspect, Jake (Luke Kleintank). Before the team can get to Matthew, Ellie (Teal Redmann) and Morgan (Elisabeth Harnois), Matthew's captives, try to escape. Yet Matthew comes back, allowing Ellie to shoot and kill him. Then, in an unexpected twist, Ellie points the gun at Morgan and fires a shot into her back.
When the girls are rescued, the team deduces that Ellie's story that the killer shot Morgan, but Ellie shot at him first, doesn't add up. The team tries to warn Capt. Brass (Paul Guilfoyle) about his daughter, but he is already on his way home to speak to Ellie and his ex-wife. But when he gets home, he opens the door on a macabre scene: the dead body of his ex-wife. Ellie, who killed her mother, is standing in front of Brass, pointing the gun at his chest.
"Matthew and Jake had their daddy issues," she tells him, "and thanks to you, so do I."
Luckily, Brass is able to calm Ellie down. The cops then drive up to the house and take Ellie into custody.
The next episode of the drama will focus on a new case. The next episode, called "Take the Money and Run," will focus on a big heist that ended in murder.
"A million dollar heist ends in a murder with the perfect weapon, and The CSI team is called in to investigate on the next episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."
