Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias and longtime girlfriend, former professional Tennis player Anna Kournikova, may call it quits because he won't propose, the New York Post's Page Six reported.
According to this recent report by the Post, Kournikova is tired of Iglesias never popping the question. "Anna is getting tired of waiting for him to decide if he wants to marry her or not," a source told Page Six, as quoted by the Huffington Post. "They've been together for so long, she feels like it's never going to happen. She is ready to move on."
"This issue has come up before, and they have managed to smooth things over and get back together. Time will tell," added the source.
According to information published by The Sun, the couple was reportedly ready to tie the knot back in May. "This is going to be a huge wedding in front of their celeb pals. They are going all out - it's going to be a massive ceremony with an over-the-top reception," reported The Sun, according to the Huffington Post.
However, during a March 2012 interview, the 38-year-old singer said he had no plans to marry Kournikova anytime soon. "I've never really thought marriage would make a difference. Maybe it's because I come from divorced parents, but I don't think you love someone more because of a piece of paper. And nowadays, it's not taboo to have kids and not be married. What makes a difference is that you're a good parent, period," Iglesias told Parade magazine.
Kournikova herself also admitted that marriage wasn't important to her. "I'm in a happy relationship -- that's all that matters," she said. "I believe in commitment. I believe in being open and trusting each other and respecting each other completely," she told Women's Health magazine.
Back in August, the couple seemed to be enjoying their time together, since during an interview with Ryan Seacrest for On Air with Ryan Seacrest, Iglesias confessed Kournikova inspired him to write his latest single "Turn The Night Up."
"You know how it started? I always walk around my house and am always joking around and there's a phrase in the song that says 'Gimme some of that.' And I'm always saying that, saying 'Gimme some of that' and ... doing a stupid little dance. [And] my girlfriend always starts laughing, so I went to the studio and said we've got to write the song around this," Iglesias told Seacrest.
