A terrifying Halloween episode of the Treehouse of Horror from animated series "The Simpsons" will be the next project of Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, who will seek to revive goblins and ghouls that will haunt the famous yellow-fleshed family.
According to the official Facebook page of the legendary animated show, the Guadalajara-born director will work on television on the trilogy of Treehouse of Horror episodes that is broadcast every year on Halloween in the United States.
According to CNN, del Toro had the idea of taking the classic sofa in the Simpson household and making it a crypt that leads to classic horror characters. In the preview of the episode titled "Dead and Shoulders", the series' creators pointed out that Bart will be decapitated in an accident involving a kite, and his head will be placed on his sister Lisa's body, which forces them to share the body.
The episode titled "Freaks no Geeks" is a story about a traveling circus owned by Mr. Burns, with which "The Simpsons" seeks to defend the title awarded by Time Magazine as the best TV show of the 20th century.
The life of the yellow family, created by Matt Groening, has been awarded with 28 Emmy awards to the best of American TV, and was nominated for an Oscar in 2012 for the short "The Longest Daycare." The show's characters have their own star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame and have been featured in six stamps from the United States Postal Service.
