Bryce Dallas Howard will join the cast of "Jurassic World."
The Wrap is reporting that Howard will play a major role in the film and that she had been interested in the film ever since it was announced.
The announcement is the first concrete news for the film as very little has been released about the project. Colin Trevorrow will direct the film from a script by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley will produce the film. Steven Spielberg will serve as executive producer.
Howard is best known for her work on "The Help" and "50/50." She has also been seen in the "Twilight" saga, "Terminator Salvation," and "As You Like it" for which she received a Golden Globe nomination. Howard was also seen in "Spider-Man 3," "The Village," "Lady in the Water" and "Apollo 13."
The "Jurassic Park" series is one of the most successful franchises of all time. The first "Jurassic Park" was released in 1993 and became an instant classic. The following film was released in 1997 and the third film launched in 2001. However, neither of the sequels were able to garner the same attention as the first film.
The fourth installment is slated to be released in 2015 and will go up against a number of franchise films. Those include "Avengers: Age of Ultron," "Batman vs. Superman," "Star Wars Episode VII," "Ant-Man," "Assassin's Creed," "Terminator" and "Independence Day 2."
The new film is scheduled for a release on June 12, 2015.
