No one likes a tough goodbye. It's never easy to let go of something you love. It always feels unfair, no matter the circumstances. Fans of "NCIS" are far too familiar with the sensation. Upon the arrival of its 11th season, one of the show's most beloved characters, Ziva, played by Cote de Pablo, will be saying goodbye, leaving fans a pool of their own tears and a cloud of misunderstanding.
But for those who feel betrayed and left alone in the dark, Pablo finally breaks her silence and delves into the details surrounding her departure during an interview with TV Guide.
Unfortunately, in a somewhat disappointing response, Pablos said that the exact details of her exit after eight years on the show is “a personal thing” that she’d rather keep to herself, adding that “leaving ‘NCIS’ was not planned.”
“The idea of leaving was not something I toyed around with for a long time,” she said. “It was an overwhelmingly hard thing -- at times terrifying.”
For fans devastated that her departure marks the end of her relationship with Michael Weatherly’s Tony, Pablo was kind enough to share that her final scene on “NCIS” will be reminiscent of her first, which she shared with Weatherly. As the end Tony and Ziva’s relationship goes, Pablo promised the closing of a “beautiful chapter.” Aw.
Now with the first episode out of the way, there’s only one more chance to lay your weary eyes on beautiful Ziva. This upcoming week will be her last episode, so make sure to stock up on plenty of Kleenex.
"NCIS" airs Tuesday nights on CBS.
