A new Pokémon evolution has been revealed, but unfortunately the unveiling seemed "anticlimactic" for some fans.
As Latinos Post reported, a new Pokémon's evolution was to be revealed on the franchise's official Facebook page on Sept. 25.
The date has arrived and the evolution is for Honedge, the dual Steel-and-Ghost Sword Pokémon.

The evolution is Doublade, who gets its name was "double" and "blade."
"The evolved form of Honedge has been revealed! Meet Doublade! This Steel- and Ghost-type Pokémon is capable of carrying out intricate attacks by telepathically coordinating its two blades to deliver twice the slice in battle," noted Pokémon's Facebook account.
Fans, however, had mixed views about the evolution, for a number of reasons.
Patrick Hansen wrote, "This is like Magneton all over again!"
Melody Tsui commented, ".w. this was anticlimactic...."
Josh Bruner sarcastically wrote, "What's better than a possessed sword? TWO!!"
Holly Olivia White shared, "I'm really not fond of all these Pokémon being based of man-made objects, like swords and ice cream and stuff. It's weird."
Not all the reaction was negative, though. Adam Whitney posted, "I, for one, really like Doublade! It'll be cool to see in the new games."
Renato Dote stated, "To anyone complaining about this: I commend you to do the same with Magneton and Dugtrio, otherwise go cry somewhere [else]. This is a pretty cool 'mon, really. Even though I don't really like the colours, but whatever!"
Pokémon fans will be able to obtain Doublade in the new "Pokémon X and Y."
The "Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" video games will be released in Australia, Europe, Japan and North America for the Nintendo 3DS and the new announced Nintendo 2DS.
What do you think about Doublade? Will you add the latest sixth-generation Pokémon to your team?
