Venezuela is running out of toilet paper, and the military is stepping in to address the shortage.

The people of Venezuela went to panic buying mode last May when the country apparently suffered from nationwide toilet paper shortage. In fact, country officials even ordered imports in the form of millions of toilet paper rolls in an attempt to counter the shortage.

The military also stepped in to address the issue. The intervention came about after the President of the country, Nicolas Maduro, ordered a special task force to uncover the reason behind the shortage. It was reportedly found out that scheming traders who are hoarding such commodities are to blame.

Now, the National Guard has taken control of a Manpa toilet paper factory in the northern state of Aragua. The military will be monitoring the production and distribution process of toilet papers. The factory occupation is legal and within the Venezuelan law.
