The new manager of the Mexican selection, Víctor Manuel Vucetich, informed on Thursday, Sept. 10, that Rafael Márquez, veteran Mexican player, will return to the ranks of the "Tri."
Vucetich and the Mexican Soccer Federation released a list of players for the first concentration of the Mexican selection on the road to the match against Panama next Oct. 11, in which the names of Rafael Márquez and Lucas Lobos stand out.
Rafa Márquez, 34 years old, is the current defense for Club León. He played his last game with the selection on June 12, 2012.
Márquez participated in three World Cups with the selection and played for Barcelona. Many specialists consider his participation in Mexico's next match to be decisive in achieving entry into the 2014 World Cup.
After the last defeat against the United States, the "Tri" was left with eight points in fifth place of its category. This will force them to either win against Panama and Costa Rica to get a direct pass or win the playoff against New Zealand. Otherwise, the team will lose it's chance to play in the World Cup.
