Christian de La Fuente is enjoying one of the most successful careers for a Chilean actor.

Born in Santiago, Chile to a chemist and homemaker, de la Fuente served in the Chilean air force and later pursued a degree in civil engineering. During his sophomore year of college, de la Fuente was discovered by a talent scout who encouraged him to enter the country's "Super Teen" contest. He entered and won the award propelling him to star in many soap operas including "Eclipse de Luna" and "La Tia de Carlos." He also appeared on a variety show entitled "Venga Conmigo."

He soon started getting contracts with Telemundo and Sony and appeared on "CSI: Miami" and "Family Law." He has also started working as a TV host on the Billboard Latin Music AwardsThe World Music Awards and the Alma Awards.

One of his biggest hits came in 2005 when he worked with Venevision on "Sonar No Cuesta Nada." The series ran for 9 months and had more than 191 episodes.

That year he also appeared alongside John Leguizamo and Ana Claudia Talancon in the film "Sueno." He later starred in UPN's "One on One" and also made a guest appearance on "Ugly Betty." In 2007, he worked with Jennifer Lopez on her mini-series "Como Ama Una Mujer."

De La Fuente had his big break for US audiences on "Dancing with the Stars."  On the show he obtained the third place title. That same year he also appeared on "Brothers and Sisters," "Fuego en la Sangre," and "In Plain Sight."

His two biggest soap operas came in 2009 and 2012. First he worked with Aracely Arambula on "Corazon Salvaje" and then he did "Amor Bravio" with Silvia Navarro, Leticia Calderon, and Cesar Evora. For "Bravio" he was nominated for Best Lead Actor at the prestigious TVy Novela Awards and the People En Espanol awards.   

Currently de La Fuente is set to star alongside Karyme Lozano and Adriana Louvier on "Quiero Amarte."
