On "Glee's" season premiere, the New Directioners are getting ready to tackle their biggest musical assignment yet: the Beatles.
According to TVLine, a new sneak peak of the season premiere, titled "Love, Love, Love," shows Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrsion) telling the members of the McKinley High glee club that their next project will focus on songs from the iconic British band.
"You guys will really have to challenge yourselves this week," Mr. Schuester tells the group.
"Perform these classic songs in new and exciting ways," he continues, in order to urge the club to mirror the constant innovation of the Fab Four.
A pair of New Direction members also get flirty at the end of the scene, foreshadowing a potential fifth season match-up.
Images were recently released from the two-part Beatles tribute opener that shows the cast happily belting out classic tunes from the seminal band. The photos show Blaine (Darren Criss) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) singing outside while the McKinley High marching band backs them up, Sgt. Pepper style. The photos also show Unique, Kitty, Artie, Ryder and Marley back in action.
According to the photos, fans can expect to see a happy outcome in the premiere from last season's Blaine and Kurt proposal cliffhanger.
The fifth season will split time between the New Direction members who are still in high school in Ohio and those who have moved to the Big Apple. Rachel (Lea Michele) and Santana (Naya Rivera) have moved to NYC to start a new chapter in their lives. While in New York, they will meet a new artist friend named Dani, who will be played by Demi Lovato. Dani will also serve as Santana's new love interest. Additionally, Adam Lambert will guest star to sing songs with the former New Directioners.
In addition to Lambert and Lovato, a new mean girl has joined the cast, played by played by Erinn Westbrook. TVLine reports that Westbrook will play the recurring role of Bree, the nasty new girl who will take aim at the glee clubbers. Westbrook has appeared in the syndicated sitcom "Mr. Box Office," Nick at Nite's "See Dad Run" and episodes of "Twisted" and "Switched at Birth."
Pheobe Strole ("Hamlet Two," "Spring Awakening") has also joined the cast as an older girl who will get involved with "trouty mouth" Sam (Chord Overstreet).
"Glee's" Beatlemania premiere airs on Thursday, September 26 on Fox.
