If you look at the internet, why exactly did NBC fire Ann Curry? There seems to be overwhelming support for the ex-"Today" show anchor.
A poll on KTLA.com shows 70 percent of viewers are sad that Ann Curry "will no longer be the host of "The Today Show." And a LatinosPost poll shows that Curry was preferred to Guthrie.
A recent LatinosPost article detailed an interview Ann Curry gave with Ladies' Home Journal where she said that her shoe choices and lack of perfectly-dyed hair was a source of friction between the host and NBC execs.
Readers responded with these comments:
"Ann Curry is the most stylish, mature, informed, down-to-earth, sincere personality on any television news show. I read about her dismissal in a waiting room People magazine in disbelief. I cannot stand to watch her shallow replacements who act like they are on The View. They are unprofessional and are not half the worth of Ann Curry combined. Shame on NBC for thinking that bronze is better than gold." - Disappointed
"I love Ann Curry, NBC showed the whole world that if you're not blond or a model type you can't be on their show. Well then I'm not going to watch the TODAY show anymore. Isn't it suppose to be the brains not the looks if you are in the news show?" - Juniorbebs
"Ann Curry was the only one on the show worth watching, the only real news broadcaster on the show." - Cguynn1950
