Today’s the day. “Bones” is making its Season 9 debut, and fans couldn’t be more ecstatic. However, before we dive into a brand new season, it’s important that fans are prepared. They should know what to expect. Luckily a new sneak peek teaser helps with exactly that.
“Booth and Brennan are kind of in a bad place at the beginning of the season,” Emily Deschanel tells fans in the video. She fears that the love and romance is slipping from their relationship, but to make matters even worse, they have to deal with their long time nemesis, Pelant.
For those hungry for a Pelant take down, Deschanel and David Boreanaz, be sure to tune in to episode 4. The duo finally takes on the villain head to head, an opportunity that Booth has been waiting for a long time and won’t let anyone take away from him. Unfortunately, his undertaking won’t solve all of Booth and Brennan’s problems.
“Pelant is part of uncovering our next Big Bad,” said executive producer Hart Hanson. The new enemy “looms over our people in a way we have yet to see on ‘Bones,’” added fellow producer Stephen Nathan. “It’s someone who is far more ephemeral than any of our other bad guys.”
But before the main course is served, Booth and Brennan have to clear their plates of the pesky Pelant. “Pelant will definitely figure into their lives quite heavily in the first few episodes,” Nathan said. “It’ll be a far more intense episode. It’ll be them confronting him in a way we haven’t seen before.”
Somewhere early in the season, fans will also catch a glimpse of the parterns’ old Tony and Roxy personas as they go undercover. Although their disguises are meant to crack a case, the preview shows that plenty of fun and laughs are around the corner. Watch the preview for yourself here.
