Less than a month away from the worldwide launch of "Pokémon X and Y," two set of Pokémon have been announced to have different male and female versions.
Pyroar, known as the Royal Pokémon with dual Fire-and-Normal-type classification, was initially revealed in its male form. The Pokémon Company International later revealed the female form in an official statement.
Regardless of Litleo's evolution, the male and female Pyroar share the same name but have a different mane.
Another new feline Pokémon is Meowstic. Similar to Pyroar, Meowstic has a male and female counterpart but share the same name.
The Psychic-type Pokémon can also learned different moves based on its gender. The male Meowstic, for example, can learn the Psychic-type move Miracle Eye, which allows future moves to hit the opponent regardless of the rival's evasion. As for the female Meowstic, an exclusive move is the Psychic-type move Extrasensory, which can cause the opponent to flinch and result in damage to the rival's HP.

The official announcement of Pyroar and Meowstic comes as Mewtwo was revealed to have a second Mega Evolution. Using the Mewtwonite X Mega Stone during a battle, Mewtwo will Mega Evolve into Mega Mewtwo X. As Mega Mewtwo X, the Genetic Pokémon's Ability becomes Steadfast, which raises its Speed each time it flinches.
The "Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" video games will be released in North America, Europe, Japan and Australia on Oct. 12 for the Nintendo 3DS and the new Nintendo 2DS. The games have a suggested retail price of $39.99, each.
