Borussia will look to sustain its perfect start to the season when it takes on Hamburg on Saturday.
The team has been in the spotlight for a number of reasons. Coach Jurgen Klopp recently told the media that he had every intention of remaining with the club for upcoming years.
"I feel great at Dortmund. My coaching team feels great at Dortmund," he said, according to ESPN. "When things are working in good order, you don't have to permanently look elsewhere just to find out if things are equally nice there. We have great conditions at Dortmund. Dortmund is a great club, and we perceive it as fortunate that we found each other."
Another major story surrounding the team regards the status of defender Mats Hummels. The Borussia defender was left on the bench during Germany's recent World Cup qualifiers, making many question whether the player was in decline. He was called the "loser of the week" by many German newspapers, according to ESPN. However, his teammates have come to his defense.
"It's not an easy situation for him," Borussia's Ilkay Gundogan said in an interview with Ruhr Nachrichten. "However, for me, Mats is one of the best centre-backs in the world. He has helped shape our game in recent years and is a very important figure for me. A player goes through times like this sometimes. I have experienced this myself. Mats is intelligent and strong enough to draw the right conclusions. I am not worried about him."
Dortmund has won its first four games of the year and will take on a Hamburg side that has accumulated one win, one draw and two losses.
