If it's not one Lohan making headlines for causing trouble, then it's another.
Dina Lohan, mother of actress Lindsay Lohan, was arrested and charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated Thursday night in New York, reports CBS New York.
The New York State police released a statement saying that Lohan was stopped at approximately 11 p.m. Thursday for speeding in a white BMW. She was driving westbound on the Northern State Parkway when cops noticed that she traveling at 77 mph in a 55 mph zone.
Police said Lohan, who lives in Merrick, Long Island, N.Y., was arrested on charges of DWI and aggravated DWI after a breath test showed her blood alcohol concentration to be .20, more than twice the legal limit.
After she was taken into custody and transported to a local police station, Lohan claimed she had been injured during her arrest. However, she recanted her statement after being evaluated by emergency personnel, who found no injuries.
Lohan, 50, was issued traffic tickets for the two DWI offenses and speeding. She was later released to a sober third party.
She is scheduled to appear in Nassau County 1st District Court on Sept. 24 to face the charges.
Meanwhile, Lindsay recently told Oprah Winfrey that she subconsciously wanted to go to jail in order to escape all the "chaos" in her life.
"At that point, being in my addiction and having all the chaos around me that I was so comfortable with, I somewhere inside knew and kind of wanted to go to jail. That was subconsciously being put out there by my actions -- or lack thereof," said Lohan during her "Oprah's Next Chapter" interview, which was shot four days after Lohan was released from rehab, according to the LA Times.
"I think it was just to find some peace and just have no choice but to just sit and be," she added.
