Despite finishing three strokes behind Day 1 leader Brandt Snedeker at the BMW Championship on Thursday, Tiger Woods was not very happy with his performance on the golf course.

Woods made seven birdies at the Conway Farms Club, including a 22-foot birdie putt on the final hole to end the day, but could not hide his frustration. Woods, however, also bogeyed two holes while failing to birdie three of the par 5s, including missing a five-foot putt at the eighth hole.

"I'm not exactly real happy," said Woods. "I played well, and I just didn't get much out of that round. I missed three little short ones in there and then played the par-5s even par. That's just not very good."

Snedeker, who made seven straight birdies for a PGA Tour-best for 2013, just two shy of the PGA all-time record, shot a 63 for the day, taking first place and fending off American Zach Johnson.

"To roll off seven birdies in a row kind of came out of nowhere. I wasn't expecting it. I hadn't been playing the best to say the least, and to get on a roll like that is always welcoming," said Snedeker. "I try and put the pedal down. I realize these runs are few and far between, so when I get on one, I try to run as hard as I can for as long as I can."

The BMW Championship is the third leg of four FedEx Cup playoff events, with the top 30 golfers in FedEx points advancing to next week's Tour Championship in Atlanta, Ga. The winner of the FedEx Cup earns a $10 million prize.

Snedeker is the defending FedExCup champ who is presently ninth in the standings, as he seeks a repeat title. Current FedEx Cup leader, Henrik Stenson - who won the Deutsche Bank Championship Labor Day weekend - finished the day tied for 39th place. Woods currently sits in second place, in the FedEx Cup, 14 points behind Stenson.
