Chiquis Rivera, the eldest daughter of the late "Diva de la Banda" Jenni Rivera, told the media that she will dedicate herself full-time to show business, just as her mother did, TVNotas reported.
Chiquis is making the final preparations to release her first single, which she confirmed during an event in Los Angeles. The announcement confirmed the months old rumors of Rivera's incursion into music.
Singer and composer Julio Reyes is giving Chiquis Rivera singing lessons, just like he did with the late Jenni Rivera, TVNotas reported. He considers that from the get-go there will be comparisons between both singers by the public and their fans.
According to TVNotas, Reyes said, "There will always be a comparison, it doesn't matter the style, genre it doesn't matter what she does. I think the comparison makes her stronger. Chiquis has her own voice, with its own style and influences."
When comparing her to her mother's issues as a singer, Reyes said that Chiquis "will be able to develop her voice and overcome the limitations that her mother left behind".
The Diva of Banda's daughter also announced that she is taking acting classes "to give that big step" within show business with her first album. TVNotas also noted that her singing teacher was the one to say that Jenni's and Chiqui's voices "are somewhat alike."
In other news, Univisión reported the case of the alleged lawsuit that Chiquis is trying to file against her aunt Rosie. During the Los Angeles event, she dispelled the rumors saying, "I don't want to sue anyone, I'm very happy with myself and everyone, I'm fine. My relationship with Rosie is fine, we're fine thank God."
