His fame is spiraling out of control. After years of quiet success, Robin Thicke has reached an unfamiliar level of fame. In the wake of “Blurred Lines’” popularity, he continues to snag unsavory headlines, which in turn are boosting his popularity.

Despite the harsh backlash from his racy “Blurred Lines” music video, which features topless models prancing around Thicke and fellow musicians Pharrell Williams and T.I. as if they were gods, the R&B singer finds himself right back at it. On the cover of Treats! magazine’s latest issue, Thicke finds himself stuck in any man’s worst nightmare: surrounded by five naked women.

“I’ve done some topless photo shoots before, but never completely nude,” Thicke said. “It was very sexy and I like that. At first I thought, ‘Okay, let’s just do topless’... but again, my wife and her friends were like, ‘No way… go all the way.’ I think we definitely pushed the envelope.”

If you’ll remember, Thicke’s wife originally suggested that Thicke release the topless edition of the “Blurred Lines” video in place of the PG rated version. She’s been the advocate all along, and Thicke affirms that not once has it gotten in the way of their relationship, thus the nude shoot for Treats! was a breeze.

In fact, Treats! inspired Thicke and his wife to take the risque approach with the music video. “When I was talking to my wife [Paula Patton] and her friends about the video they said, ‘Do something like Treats! because you love it so much,” Thicke said. “I wanted to give homage where homage was due. We wanted to pay it all forward about our inspiration from Treats! for the ‘Blurred Lines’ video.”

The cover will surely garner its fair share of criticism, but Thicke couldn’t care less. The the controversy over the “Blurred Lines” video helped catapult the song to its epic success. They say that any press is good press, and in Thicke’s case, the same sentiment rings true.
