The anime series for the "Pokémon X and Y" saga has been confirmed, and a preview for the upcoming season will hit the airwaves sooner than expected.
As Latinos Post reported, the Pokémon franchise will start following the saga from the sixth-generation beginning Oct. 17, which is five days after the worldwide release date of "Pokémon X and Y."
The Oct. 17 premiere date, however, is only for Japanese viewers. American viewers don't have to wait long.

The Pokémon Company International has confirmed a preview of the "Pokémon X and Y" season will air on Cartoon Network on Oct. 19.
The two-episode sneak peak of the new season, officially known as "Pokémon the Series: XY," will be shown alongside the premiere of the latest Pokémon movie featuring the return of Mewtwo.
As Latinos Post reported on Sept. 9, the latest movie's official English name will be "Pokémon the Movie: Genesect and the Legend Awakened," and will debut on Cartoon Network on Oct. 19. The movie features a group of Genesects terrorizing a city until Mewtwo arrives to provide an understanding to their similar histories.

An English trailer for "Pokémon the Series: XY" has not been posted, but the Japanese version has made its way online.
Based on the Japanese trailer for the upcoming "Pokémon X and Y" season, Ash Ketchum continues his adventures with Pikachu but without Unova companions Cilan and Iris. The Kalos starter Pokémon - Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie - are seen during the preview.
The two-episode preview of "Pokémon the Series: XY" would break the airdate gap traditionally seen between the Japanese and American debuts. Japan usually airs the anime up to 100 days ahead of the Cartoon Network premiere, but the preview would temporarily close the gap to two days.
The full "Pokémon the Series: XY" seasons are projected to air on Cartoon Network by February 2014.
The "Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" video games will be released in North America, Europe, Japan and Australia on Oct. 12 for the Nintendo 3DS and the recently announced Nintendo 2DS. The games have a suggested retail price of $39.99, each.
