USA will face an Australian team that won its last three games including the number one seeded Russia in Group B. Although USA has been on a 5-0 winning streak so far in the tournament, coach Mike Krzyzewski's tone conveyed the team isn't taking anything for granted.
"You have to win three tough games and you have to approach each game like it's a championship game, so you can't look beyond the (next) game. That's a focus, a seventh game focus for an NBA player and that's what we're trying to make sure that these guys have on their minds," he said according to USABasketball.com
Krzyzewski mentioned that some areas his players could improve were the defensive performance at the start of the game as well as making more stops offensively.
If USA beats Australia, they will face Argentina in the semifinals. Argentina defeated Brazil 82-77 earlier today.
The second semifinals leg will be played between Spain and Russia.
Spain won over Tony Parker's France 66-59 while the Russians dominated Lithuania 83-74.
