A new casting call for "Star Wars Episode VII" is rumored to have been announced.
According to Showbiz 411, Disney released a casting call for an untitled film known as "Untitled Studio Feature." However, the feature is rumored to have J.J Abrams involved, potentially indicating it's the new "Star Wars" film.
According to Showbiz 411's source, the casting sheet was distributed in New York and seeks three principals. One of the roles in question is a young man in his early 20s and is described as handsome, but not necessarily heroic. He is also described as witty, smart and physically fit.
Another role the project is seeking is a man in his late 20s who is physically fit, handsome and confident. The last role is a woman in her late teens who is physically fit and possesses raw energy as well as a great sense of humor. The role description also states that she is independent.
"Star Wars Episode VII" has been in the casting process for a number of months. Disney was slated to announce the preliminary cast a the D23 convention but failed to announce anything. Currently Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, and Mark Hamill are slated to reprise their roles from the original film but nothing has been confirmed. Meanwhile, Ewan McGregor, Anthony Daniels and Ian Mcdiarmid are also rumored to return to the series.
Over the past weeks several actors including Ryan Gosling, Alex Pettyfer, Benedict Cumberbatch and Zac Efron have been rumored to audition for the film.
"Star Wars Episode VII" is currently in pre-production with Abrams slated to direct the film. Kathleen Kennedy will produce the movie with a script by Michael Ardnt. John Williams will write the score for the movie, while Daniel Mindel will serve as the director of photography. Disney is slated to release the movie in 2015 with production slated to start in January.
