Benin and Rwanda will contest their final World Cup qualifying match of the current cycle.
Both squads are already eliminated from contention for the third round and the only question that remains is which squad will finish second, third and fourth. Algeria has already clinched the top spot and will head to the third round where it will face another group winner in a two-legged contest. The winner will move on to the World Cup Finals in Brazil next summer.
Benin has five points and can still finish second place if Algeria beats Mali next Tuesday. The team opened up with a 1-0 win over Mali but drew 1-1 against Rwanda in Kigali during the second qualifier. The third round of qualifiers saw Benin lost 3-1 against Algeria; the Algerians won by the same score in the return leg against Benin. In their fifth qualifier Benin drew 2-2 with Mali.
Rwanda has two points and -6 goal differential; the team would need a huge victory to finish above Benin in the final standings. The massive goal differential has a lot to do with the team's 4-0 loss to Algeria in the opening game. The team then drew 1-1 with Benin before losing 2-1 against Mali. In its fourth game, Rwanda drew 1-1 with Mali before losing 1-0 against Algeria in its most recent outing.
Prediction: Both sides have nothing to lose and will like battle to a 1-1 draw.
Start Time: 11 a.m. EST
The match will not be broadcast on line or on television.
