So does Ryan Lochte have a girlfriend? Now that the actual swimming competitions are over for the 2012 London Olympics, it seems much of the media's attention has now switched over to Lochte's life away from the pool. Well, looks like Lochte himself has admitted that he doesn't have one - but that he is interested in finding one.
"Yeah, I mean I definitely want a relationship. I want to give a certain someone my heart. I mean, I just gotta find the right girl," Lochte said to E!News on the red carpet of Speedo's party in London on Monday night.
In an earlier interview with CNN's Pierce Morgan, Lochte said, "I like being in relationships...I want to give them my entire heart."
Earlier comments by Lochte and his mother had sparked a debate over whether Lochte was simply a one-night-stand kind of man.
"He goes out on one-night stands," Lochte's mother, Ike Lochte, told TODAY.com. "He's not able to give fully to a relationship because he's always on the go."
After everyone in the media pounced on the quote, Lochte clarified to E!News that, "She meant I go on a lot of dates. She didn't mean anything negative. She's new to the whole media thing."
More likely than not, Lochte is looking for somebody to support him as he becomes the new face of American swimming now that Michael Phelps has probably competed in his last Olympic games.
"Now that the games are all said and done, I definitely want to get married and have kids and start a family of my own," Lochte told Access Hollywood.
Since Michael Phelps is apparently tied up with Megan Rossee, Lochte might be somebody's best shot at an American golden-boy swimmer.
