2013 has been an eventful year for skiing champion Lindsey Vonn. In February, she suffered from a tragic fall while racing at the World Cup in Austria and a month later she went public with her romance with golf pro Tiger Woods.
For the last several months, the Olympic gold medalist has been rehabbing her surgically repaired knee following the painful crash that left her with a torn MCL and ACL. However, she recently told The Denver Post that she feels confident about competing in the 2014 Sochi winter games and that her beau may be by her side.
In addition to her devastating fall, the 28-year-old athletic beauty also opened up about her relationship with Woods.
"From a personal standpoint, everything in my life has changed. It's a complete 180 in a short period of time," Vonn recently told PEOPLE.
"I went from being married to living on my own in L.A., to having a new boyfriend and just being totally self-sufficient and super independent," she added. "It's awesome. I love it!"
She continued to gush about dating the 37-year-old golfer, saying, "There's really nothing about him that bothers me," adding with a laugh, "He doesn't even leave the seat up! It's awesome."
The two met at a charity event in spring 2012, became a couple that fall, and the rest is history.
Meanwhile, Vonn is thrilled to be back on the slopes this weekend for the first time since her accident.
"I leave for Chile on Friday and I'll be on the snow on Monday!" she said. "It's probably going to be slower than I want it to be ... But I'm really excited just to be out there, to be in the mountains, to be going fast again."
She added that she and Woods are trying to work out his schedule for the 2014 Sochi games. "We're going to see how his schedule goes, but he's hoping to come," she said. "He's kind of a fish out of water in the cold weather. It's going to be really cute!"
