The second "Pokémon Direct" presentation has ended and new information for the upcoming sixth-generation video games have been revealed.
The video presentation, which featured Nintendo Global President Satoru Iwata, Game Freak Director Junichi Masuda, and an executive from The Pokémon Company International, first went over the history of the Pokémon video game series, from "Red and Blue" for the original GameBoy, to "Ruby and Sapphire" for the Gameboy Advance.

The three men elaborated about maintaining "connectivity" with the Pokémon games, an aspect that will be more evident with the new "Player Search System" (PSS) in "Pokémon X and Y."
Masuda then introduced "Pokémon Bank," which will allow gamers to store up to 3,000 Pokémon in a cloud-like service via the Internet for the Nintendo 3DS. The Pokémon Bank, however, will have an annual fee.
Iwata noted the reason for the fee is to provide maintenance for the long-term feature.
With Pokémon Bank, gamers can transfer Pokémon from their fifth-generation games to "Pokémon X and Y" via the Poké Transporter app. According to Masuda, the app is still in development and will be released soon.
The latest "Pokémon Direct" confirmed Mega Evolutions for the first-ever Pokémon starters come from the Kanto region, meaning Blastoise, Charizard and Venusaur. In fact, a Kanto starter will be available at the beginning of the game.

The latest "Pokémon Direct" presentation, approximately 20 minutes in length, had more than 2 million viewers on UStream.
The latest Pokémon Direct video comes almost nine months after the first "Direct" presentation featuring Iwata. January's "Pokémon Direct" presentation confirmed and focused on "Pokémon X and Y."
"Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" will be released simultaneously in North America, Europe, Japan and Australia on Oct. 12 for the Nintendo 3DS and the recently announced Nintendo 2DS. The video games have a suggested retail price of $39.99, each.
