On Sept. 20 Universal will release Ron Howard's new film "Rush."

The new film, starring Chris Hemsworth, tells the story of the 1970s rivalry between Formula One racers James Hunt and Niki Lauda.

The film recently premiered in London where it scored rave reviews. Todd McCarthy of the Hollywood Reporter wrote a positive review and stated, "The lead actors shine in an engaging look at the two fierce rivals who battled it out for the Formula One championship in 1976."

Peter Debruge from Variety also enjoyed the film. "Not just one of the great racing movies of all time, but a virtuoso feat of filmmaking in its own right, elevated by two of the year's most compelling performances," wrote Debruge.

David Gritten of the Daily Telegraph gave the film four stars out five and wrote, "'Rush' breaks the mould; its racing scenes are thrilling, and the personal dynamics in the pits and away from the track genuinely intriguing."

James Mottram of Total Film stated, "Aided by two punchy lead turns, an Oscar-worthy script and stunning in-car footage, Howard's race film delivers top-gear drama. A piston- and heart-pumping triumph."

Ben Rawson-Jones of the Digital Spy was a bit reserved with his praise and gave the movie three stars out of five. He wrote, "Sight, sound and story all fuse into an impressively cohesive whole that help the movie zoom past the finish line after shakier beginnings."

The new film is garnering a ton of Oscar buzz and after such a successful premiere the film is bound to get even more buzz with a potential for a Best Picture nomination come February.

"Rush" also stars Daniel Bruhl, Olivia Wilde, Alexandra Maria lara and Natalie Dormer. Universal will distribute the film in limited release.
