The crisis Pumas is experiencing doesn't seem to end, especially after they suffered a tremendous defeat against América on Monday, September 2.
América dominated from start to end achieving a smashing 4-1, which cost Antonio Torres Servín his post as coach of the team, who directed the team in losing eight matches in a row, informed CNN.
During the match, Pumas revealed itself undisciplined and chaotic, a situation that was exploited by the visitors who made the university stadium in Mexico City their own.
Miguel Layún took charge and scored the first goal at the 27th minute mark for América. Juan Carlos Valenzuela scored again five minutes later and two minutes later Luis ángel Mendoza scored again, making the first half disastrous for Pumas.
Finally, Luis Gabriel Rey scored once more at minute 65 to achieve the crushing victory. On the other hand, Argentinian Martín Bravo scored an honorable goal for Pumas on the 78th minute.
With this result, Pumas gets their fourth loss in the Apertura 2013 Tournament of the Mexican Soccer League. América, current champion of the league managed five wins in a row and stands as leader of the Apertura Tournament, with 16 points above above Morelia and León.
After the embarrassing defeat, Mario Trejo, Sports VP of Club Universidad, announced that manager Antonio Torres would no longer hold his position.
"We have all agreed that we won't continue Antonio Torres' work relationship with the Club, he is no longer part of the Club, and neither are assistant Juan de Dios Ramírez Perales and Gustavo Lembruno", informed sports newspaper Mediotiempo on their website.
