The show kicks off with WWE COO Triple H and WWE Champion Randy Orton in the ring gloating about their actions against Daniel Bryan while recommending he give up his title shot at the Night of Champions pay-per-view for the good of "business." Bryan came out to the ring, telling Triple H and Orton that he was not going away any time soon, which forced Triple H to schedule a match against The Big Show in the main event.
Backstage, Triple H and Orton make fun of The Big Show as Cody Rhodes walks by area. Rhodes tells Triple H that Bryan versus Orton is "good for business" and that he does not understand why Orton is ducking Bryan. As punishment for his insolence, Triple H decides Rhodes will face Orton, and should the champion win, Rhodes will be fired.
MATCH No. 1: Fandango (w/ Summer Rae) vs. The Miz
Fandango was still angry about The Miz interfering in his match on Friday Night Smackdown, and ended up getting his nose broken after The Miz kicked Fandango in the face. The Miz had the last laugh over Fandango, cinching the Figure-Four Leg-Lock to earn the submission victory.
WINNER: The Miz
MATCH No. 2: Ryback vs. Dolph Ziggler
Dolph Ziggler was scheduled to face a surprise opponent but was attacked in the ring by the United States Champion Dean Ambrose before the match started. After Ambrose was dishing out "justice" to Ziggler, Ziggler's surprise opponent - Ryback - came down to the ring and finished what Ambrose started, hitting Ziggler with a ShellShock for the victory.
WINNER: Ryback
MATCH No. 3: 3MB vs. The Prime Time Players
Titus O'Neil nailed Jinder Mahal of 3MB with a Clash of Titus to seal the deal for The Prime Time Players.
WINNER: The Prime Time Players
MATCH No. 4: WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes (non-title)
Rhodes fought with a lot of heart, considering his career was on the line against the champion. Rhodes attempted a Disaster Kick but tweaked his knee on the landing, which "The Apex Predator" capitalized on, putting an end to Rhodes' WWE career with an RKO to seal the victory.
WINNER : Randy Orton
MATCH No. 5: Triple Threat Match for a title shot at the WWE Divas Title - Natalya vs. Brie Bella vs. Naomi of The Funkadactyl
WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee sat at commentary as she looked on to see who her opponent for Night of Champions would be, before jumping into the ring, yelling like a Banshee that no one deserved a shot at her title. The Total Diva cast-members quickly put all their differences aside to gang up on the champion, leaving her laid out in the ring. After the match, Stephanie McMahon ordered a Fatal 4-Way match between Natalya, Brie Bella, Naomi and AJ at Night of Champions.
WINNER: No Contest
MATCH No. 6: Damien Sandow vs. Rob Van Dam (w/ Ricardo Rodriguez)
With WWE World Heavyweight champion Alberto Del Rio looking on from the ramp, Rob Van Dam showed the champion why he's "The Whole F'n Show" hitting Sandow - still holding down his MITB suitcase - with a Rolling Thunder before sealing the deal with a Five-Star Frog Slash to get the 1-2-3 count.
WINNER: Rob Van Dam
MATCH No. 7: Daniel Bryan vs. The Big Show
Prior to the match, Stephanie McMahon reminded The Big Show of all his bad investments and that his "iron-clad" WWE contract was contingent in his follow orders, in case The Big Show was planning to throw the match. Despite The Big Show's insistence to Bryan he didn't want this match, Bryan went at the Big Show with every intent on winning. The Shield would interfere late in the match, as The Big Show changed his mind about finishing the bout, after tagging Bryan with a massive Spear. "The Hounds of Justice" took matters into their own hands and nailed Bryan with The Triple Power-Bomb yet again. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon would make their way down to the ring and ordered a crying Big Show to hit Bryan with the WMD. Orton would come down to the ring to survey the destruction laid out by The Shield and The Big Show, standing over a fallen Bryan to end the show.
WINNER: Daniel Bryan by Disqualification
