While most distributors are preparing for the 2014 Academy Awards, the Weinstein Company already has a head start on 2015. The company has released the first image of the upcoming film "Suite Francaise."

Starring Michelle Williams and Matthias Schoenaerts, "Suite Francaise" tells the story of a romance that blooms between a French villager and a German soldier during the German occupation in France in the 1940s.

The film was directed and written by Saul Dibb, best known for his work on "The Duchess," and also stars Kristen Scott Thomas, Sam Riley, Ruyth Wilson, Margot Robbie, Alexandra Maria Lara and Eileen Atkins. Alexandre Desplat wrote the score, while Xavier Marchand produced the movie on behalf of eOne alongside Romain Brémond from TF1 DA. Michael Kuhn and Andrea Cornwell also served as producers from Qwerty Films, while Harvey Weinstein served as an executive producer alongside BBC Films' Christine Langan.

The Weinstein Company is known for its awards success. In recent years the company has won two Best Picture Oscars for "The King's Speech" and "The Artist." It has also released many nominated films including "The Reader," "A Single Man," "The Master," "Silver Linings Playbook," "Django Unchained" and "Blue Valentine." This year the company has one of the strongest awards lineups. "Fruitvale Station," and "Lee Daniel's The Butler" have already been called Best Picture contenders. The company will also release "August: Osage County," "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom" and "Grace of Monaco."

Williams has been seen "My Week with Marilyn," "Blue Valentine" and "Oz: The Great and Powerful." Schoenaerts is best known for his work in "Rust and Bone," "Blood Ties" and "Bullhead."

"Suite Francaise" is set to be released in 2014.
