With the launch of "Pokémon X and Y," Pokémon fans will be introduced to the new Mega Evolution feature, however, it is unknown how many of the pocket monsters will get the ability.
The Pokémon that have been confirmed to Mega Evolve, so far, are Absol, Ampharos, Blaziken, Kangaskhan, Lucario, Mawile, and Mewtwo.
Latinos Post, however, looked at 649 Pokémon from the first to fifth generations and compiled a short list of Pokémon that should be next on the Mega Evolution brand.
Although it would be interesting to see Pokémon such as Blastoise, Charizard, and Gengar Mega Evolve, Latinos Post looked into Pokémon that may be in need of the Mega Evolution.
One Pokémon that should Mega Evolve is Jynx. The Human-Shape Pokémon does not have a further evolution. Unlike Magmar and Electabuzz, Jynx has not received an evolution but only a baby form in Smoochum.
Jynx, as the only Ice-and-Psychic-Pokémon in the franchise, would be a further force to be reckoned with if given a Mega Evolution.
Generation Two:
It was a tough choice when it comes to the Johto-region Pokémon. In a toss up between Heracross and Skarmory, the latter was ultimately chosen to Mega Evolve.
The Pokémon franchise currently lacks Steel-type Pokémon compared to Bug-types like Heracross. Skarmory does not have a baby form or an evolution, and with a base stat of 465, a Mega Evolution could give the Armor Bird-Pokémon extra power.
Similar to Jynx, Skarmory is the only Steel-and-Flying-type Pokémon in the franchise.
Generation Three:
For the Hoenn region, a Mega Evolution for Sableye should prove interesting.
The Darkness Pokémon does not have a baby form or evolution.
Its base stats are pretty low at 380, which is bittersweet for a Pokémon that has no weaknesses.
A Mega Evolution for Sableye could give the dual Dark-and-Ghost Pokémon a well-needed boost.
Generation Four:
As if Sinnoh Champion Cynthia needed more power, the Pokémon picked that should Mega Evolve is Garchomp. The dual Dragon-and-Ground-type Pokémon already has an impressive base stat with 600, but it simply would be interesting to see how the pseudo-legendary Pokémon will be in battle as Mega Garchomp.
Generation Five:
From the latest generation, Latinos Post decided a Mega Evolution for Zoroark.
The Dark-type Pokémon has been an odd character in both the video games and in the anime, and a Mega Evolution should give the Illusion Fox Pokémon an extra boost when fighting against Fighting and Bug-type Pokémon.
As Latinos Post reported, a list of Pokémon trademarks might represent the next batch of Pokémon that could Mega Evolve. Although The Pokémon Company International hasn't confirmed the information, the names included Abomasnow, Aerodactyl, Aggron, Banette, Blastoise, Charizard, Gengar, Gyarados, Gardevoir, Heracross, Houndoom, Jynx, Latias, Latios, Medicham, Pinsir, Scizor, and Tyranitar.
While there are other Pokémon that should get either a proper evolution or Mega Evolution, which Pokémon do you think should be added to the list?
Let us know your reasons in the comments below!
