Although season six of HBO's blood-drenched drama "True Blood" just ended, fans are already speculating about what will happen in the show's seventh season.
"True Blood" Executive Producer Brian Buckner shared an inside scoop about next season with TVLine. Buckner shared some information about Pam (Kristen Bauer van Straten) and Tara's (Rutina Wesley) relationship in season seven.
"As the audience heard Pam say in episode one, life is long - especially for vampires," Buckner said. "She also told Tara that this is not going to be a love story. But I would urge [fans] to be patient. Because if the show delivers on the audience's expectation every week, that's not storytelling. Where's the surprise in that?"
"These [story] threads can be picked up later," Bucker continued. "I want to be able to tell more interesting, circuitous stories at times and not always deliver on the junk-food promise of the show. "
Buckner also told TVGuide that fans shouldn't expect to see Sam's (Sam Trammell) hybrid baby next season due to the show's timing. Buckner explained, "Our 10 episodes [usually] take place over the course of two weeks." Hence, that is not nearly enough time for the baby to come to full term.
However, Buckner did hint that if season seven is the final season, things will move faster in the storyline. Buckner has not yet confirmed if season seven will be the show's final season, but he said that it is a possibility.
It was also recently reported that Amelia Rose Blaire was upped to series regular for season seven of the supernatural show. Blaire joined the show last season as Willa Burrell, the governor's daughter and a vampire rights activist. Willa then became a vamp herself.
Season six ended with a myriad of shocking moments, the most shocking being Eric's apparent demise while sunbathing on a Swedish mountaintop in the nude. According to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Brian Buckner said that while it appeared Eric died in the sunlight due to Warlow's (Rob Kazinksy) death, Eric is not gone from the show for good.
"Well, I did not confirm that he's alive," Buckner said. "Not that I want to create more conversation, because I don't, but to be clear, we're not saying how we're going to use him, we're simply saying that we are using him."
Buckner also revealed that viewers can expect a Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Alcide (Joe Manganiello) sex scene in season seven, and that Niall (Rutger Hauer) and Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp) may return.
Next season will primarily focus on vampires pairing up with humans to enjoy each other's benefits. The humans will offer vampires sustenance while the vampires offer humans protection from the Hep-V infected vamps.
The next season of "True Blood" will begin production in December.
