It's an ominous sign. The clouds linger in the morning sky. Fog rolls in from the bogs and carpet the dew covered grass. The temperature is changing. Slowly but surely, the summer chapter is closing, preparing for the impending frigid months that arrive as quickly as a page turn. Winter is coming.

But for fans of the hit series "Game of Thrones," Winter is still months away. The Season 4 premiere won't arrive until spring, which will mark the slow descent of the real Winter, the winter that matters, from the north. And as production slowly picks up in its offseason, more details provide fans with curious inklings of what's on deck in Westeros.

As TVLine reports, Michiel Huisman of "Nashville" is leaving the city of rock and making his way to the world of fire breathing dragons and unrelenting war. There are little to no details on his character. In fact, nothing is known about his upcoming role except for the fact that it will be recurring. While the secrecy surrounding the news may discourage fans, others are upset that the show continues to pile on more and more characters, confusing faces and confuddling plotlines.

The books on which the show is based, "A Song of Ice and Fire," introduce new characters left and right, and when translated into the television series, fans can become frustrated and discouraged. There are simply too many to keep track of. Therefore, in effort to keep fans interest, producer David Benioff plans to focused on what's most important in season 4.

"The series has already reached a point where there are so many characters, particularly in season 3 we're introducing so many new ones," Benioff said. "We run the risk of bursting at the seams as we try to cram every single subplot and all the various characters and it becomes impossible on a budgetary level and it becomes impossible on an episode-basis to jump around every few minutes to 30 different characters and locations."

Yes. So please, take casting seriously and save us all a headache. We're going to watch the show regardless, but please, spare us.
