Barcelona won the Spanish Super Cup on Wednesday despite only finishing their match against Atletico Madrid with a 0-0 draw. On aggregate the teams tied 1-1 but the Neymar goal in Madrid proved the difference for Blaugrana.

Atletico coach Diego Simeone stated after the game that while his team could match the firepower of Barcelona for a game or two, he was unsure whether the team would be up to the task of keeping up with Barcelona all season long.

"Barca are better than us, Real Madrid are better than us," he told reporters, according to Goal.com. "Their economic strength puts them out of our reach. In a one-off match we can try and match them, but not over a league season."

In the first leg, David Villa gave Los Colchoneros a 1-0 lead, but young phenom Neymar added the equalizer to give Barcelona an away goal. In the return leg, Barcelona dominated possession and controlled the sphere over 70 percent of the time. However, both teams earned eight shots on goal with most of the best chances coming from Madrid. Barcelona goalie Victor Valdes was undisputedly the star of the show with a number of game-savers, including two that can be seen below.

Meanwhile, Lionel Messi, the best player in the world according to some, missed a penalty shot and an opportunity to add to his record 10 Spanish Super Cup goals.

Atletico picked up two red cards in the process in addition to four additional yellow cards for what was perceived as overly physical play.
