'The Walking Dead' Season 4 Spoilers: Governor Contemplates Life, Signs on to New AMC Series

Like the zombies that are portrayed in the show, details trudge down from the set of "The Walking Dead," slowly and persistently. Production on season 4 is now well underway as the series gears up for its October premiere. In classic "Walking Dead" fashion, season 3 left off with a heart stopping cliffhanger, so naturally, fans are eager and enthusiastic to catch up with their favorite characters and see how they'll adapt to the increasing threat of the ever hungry zombies and The Governor.

Fans watched as The Governor edged toward to brink of insanity throughout season 3. Now in the wake of the season 3 finale, there's no telling how far his character will go, or by what means he'll take to get there. Unfortunately, there's little on his character up to this point. As the season kicks off, he'll be on the road dealing with the darkness deep within that surfaced during Season 3. He'll ask himself whether he's a good guy or a bad guy and internally struggle with his new identity.

"It's about whether you can find anything else to love, or whether the lack of love, the lack of having nothing to live for makes him an even more dangerous man," David Morrissey, who plays The Governor, said during an interview with Wetpaint. "When you start caring in this world, it's a very dangerous thing because you've got something to lose. And he's the man without anything to lose. That's a very dangerous thing. So it's about that really. It's about whether he can find that in this world, and whether he wants it. Whether he wants to die. He's in a very, very dark place."

Regardless of where The Governor end up in Season 4, the future is bright for Morrissey. According to Entertainment Weekly, the actor has joined the cast of a new drama pilot for AMC called "Line of Sight," which will focus on a National Transportation Safety Board Investigator, played by Morrissey, who survives a plane crash. Not to worry though, the network promises that Morrissey will be splitting his time equally between the sets, both of which are based in Atlanta. There's plenty more of The Governor to come, both in and outside of "The Walking Dead."
