Santana will be forgetting all about Brittany on the upcoming season of "Glee." Santana (Naya Rivera) will be cozying up to Demi Lovato's character, Dani, a struggling artist in New York who befriends Rachel (Lea Michele) and Santana.
According to E! Online, Naya Rivera shared at the MTV Video Music Awards that Lovato is playing her new flame.
"I mean, she's playing my love interest, so I'm very, very excited about that," said Rivera. "We get to sing a song together. It's gonna be good. I'm excited to work with her. We're bringing her to the dark side. Well, she comes on in a Beatles episode, so [we're singing] a Beatles song."
Santana and Lovato will reportedly sing the classic Beatles hit, "Here Comes the Sun" together.
Lovato will appear in at least six episodes as Dani, and will debut in the season's second episode, airing Oct. 3. The singer is appearing alongside other new season five recruits Phoebe Strole and "American Idol" sensation Adam Lambert.
Back at McKinley High, the Glee club members are gearing up to defend a national title. Darren Criss, who plays Blaine on the show, told E! Online that Mr. Schue (Matthew Morrison) assigned them a big two-week challenge to prepare for the competition.
"We are coming back with one of the greatest secret weapons: Beatle-mania!" Criss exclaimed.
Criss also shared that Sue Sylvester, the newly appointed principal, is back and as ornery as ever. "Sue Sylvester is up to her old tricks being evil and mean, five seasons later Sue continues to destroy the glee club," Criss said.
Criss also gave a big hint about the season four cliffhanger, in which it looked like Blaine was about to pop the question to Kurt (Chris Colfer), who were seen kissing on set last week while filming a season five scene.
"At the end of season four we had a little bit of a cliff-hanger, I don't know, maybe, kinda, sorta. A little box behind Blaine's back," Criss teased. "Who knows what's in the box? Blaine is getting ideas and it might have something to do with something that rhymes with shaposal."
Tune in to the new season on Thursday, September 26 on Fox to see what happens next.
