Mexican footballer Giovanni Dos Santos formalized his relationship with girlfriend Alexia Imaz when he gave her an engagement ring during a romantic trip in New York City.
According to TVNotas, 24-year-old Dos Santos surprised his girlfriend in the middle of their trip to the Big Apple with his proposal. However, the couple has not set date for the ceremony because the footballer has many standing commitments with the Villarreal de España football club and the Mexican National Team.
Imaz and Dos Santos have been a couple for just a few weeks, but it rapidly became apparent how serious their relationship was. The couple frequently published photos of themselves on their social network accounts, letting their followers see each and every moment they shared.
The proposal was revealed by Dos Santos himself through Twitter by publishing a picture of the couple embracing, highlighting the presence of an engagement ring on her left hand.
TVNotas reported that it is presumed that the small diamond ring could have been bought at the prestigious and luxurious Tiffany and Co.

The future wife of the footballer is the daughter of the Head of the National Security and Investigation Center (CISEN), Eugenio Imaz Gispert. Imaz was reportedly the victim of abuse at the hands of her ex-boyfriend Gerardo Sade. According to the magazine, Sade was accused by Imaz's sister for the abuse through her Twitter account. "This happened to my sister. Her cowardly ex-boyfriend sneaked into her house like a criminal to beat her while she slept... Help us stop violence against women, it's a crime. Let's denounce it."
