'The Carrie Diaries' Season 2 Spoilers: New Characters to be Introduced, More 'Risque' Plot Lines

The exploits of a young, but no less fabulous Carrie Bradshaw will return to The CW this fall. The second season of "The Carrie Diaries" will introduce more young versions of "Sex and the City" characters as Carrie (AnnaSophia Robb) moves into Manhattan. The second season is also said to be more risque, which fans are sure to enjoy. 

Hollywood Life spoke with executive producer Amy B. Harris, who revealed that Walt (Brendan Dooling) and Carrie won't be the only "Sex and the City" characters who will be in the Big Apple next season. 

"I don't think you'll see Maggie there much, but pretty much everybody else feels like there are incredibly logical ways to bring them into the city and I felt like Walt in particular would be someone who would want to start spending a lot of time in the city," Harris said. "That's a world he will want to live in as well as Carrie. The goal for the second season is to build out the city for the other characters as well, but in organic ways." 

The producer also addressed the relationship between Walt and Bennet (Jake Robinson), including the complicated nature of being gay in the 1980s. "They have a ton of chemistry and I want to explore that. [Having the show set in the 80s], you can tell the story of will Walt feel safe and comfortable holding hands with him walking down the street if there's other people around to the bigger story of the landscape of AIDS in the '80s, as a part of being a gay man in Manhattan. I'm excited to really delve into all of that," Harris said. 

Harris also revealed that many more characters will be introduced in season two, including Standford, who becomes one of Carrie's best friends. Carrie will meet Standford through Bennett because the two are roommates.

Harris hinted that Standford is only one of a number of young "Sex and the City" characters who will enter Carrie's world in the second season. The upcoming season will introduce Samantha, played by Lindsey Gort. According to AnnaSophia Robb, Samantha will get Carrie into some trouble. 

"I think [Samantha] will be [a bad influence on Carrie.]" Robb said. "Season two is already starting out to be a bit more risque, but it's still a lot of fun. Lindsey Gort plays the new Samantha and she's awesome." 

As for the risque factor, Robb said that it will involve some new boys, including a flame played by newcomer Chris Wood. "Boys will always be involved. They're going to be getting into mischief throughout the city and sort of figuring out their friendship, getting to know each other and their different backgrounds."

The apparent trouble that Carrie will get herself into may cause some bumps in her relationship with Samantha. "There are rocky points, definitely," Robb admitted. "Carrie meets Samantha and is like 'Who is this chick? What is she about?'" 

The second season of "The Carrie Diaries" airs on The CW on Oct. 25.
